Abstract

Most cities have a severe problem with industrial waste polluting local water supplies. Serious concerns have been raised about the safe use of water for drinking and other purposes due to the proliferation of industrial activity and the resulting discharge of untreated and partially treated wastes into water bodies. Changes in a freshwater ecosystem’s biological and physicochemical properties are caused by the waste discharge from various industries entering the water system, which can lead to pollution. Aquatic life may be harmed if exposed to such water sources. An assortment of studies on industrial water pollution is summarized in this article.
