Since time immemorial man is curious to know how the things happen. They carefully observed natural phenomena, searched for the reasons and mechanisms of the occurrences, and reached certain speculative beliefs. That time it was not possible to verify them thoroughly or prove them conclusively with the help of the contemporary level of understanding of nature. As time passed, many such beliefs were found to be unjustified. For example, the Earth appears to us to be a huge static object that shelters us. Also it appears to be flat.
