Abstract

Honey is one of the best sweeteners on the planet! One tablespoon of honey is about 64 calories and has no fat or cholesterol. It contains vitamins, trace enzymes, amino acids, and minerals like calcium, iron, sodium, magnesium, potassium and phosphate. Honey also contains bee pollen, which is known to ward off infections, provide natural allergy relief and boost overall immunity. Because of its bend toward the acidic PH level (3.2 to 4.5), it helps to reduce bacterial growth, gastrointestinal disorders and the antioxidant properties help it wipe out some free radicals. Honey may also help blood sugar management. It possesses anti fungal and antibacterial properties and can be used as a safer, faster, and effective healing agent specially for diabetic wounds. Honey even ‘beats cough medicine’ at alleviating and reducing the frequency of cough and improves sleep quality.
