Abstract

Sir Ronald Ross was awarded with Nobel prize for his work on malaria. Malaria is an ancient disease and it is now endemic throughout most of the tropics. The classic symptom of Malaria of paroxysmal fever with chill and rigor. Life cycle of malaria consists of exo-erythrocytic and erythrocytic phases. Blood film examination is the gold standard for the diagnosis of malaria. Artemisin Combination Therapy (ACT) is most effective against P.Falciparum malaria. Antimalarial vaccine have been an elusive goal of research to give protective immunity against malaria.
