Abstract

The aim of this work is to study the chemistry of element transfer in respect to developed agglomerated flux constituents during submerged arc welding. Fluxes have been designed by altering different minor constituents e.g. MnO, CaF2, NiO, MgO and Fe-Cr. The ratio of major constituents i.e. CaO, SiO2 and Al2O3 has been kept as a constant. Through this study it could be inferred that the chemical analysis of the element transfer during submerged arc welding can be correlated with the mechanical properties.
