Asian Agri-History, an international quarterly journal, is being published in English by the Asian Agri-History Foundation to promote understanding of all historical aspects of the development of agriculture in Asia from the earliest known records until the early 20th century.

Aims and Scope


Asian Agri-History, an international quarterly journal, is being published in English by the Asian Agri-History Foundation to promote understanding of all historical aspects of the development of agriculture in Asia from the earliest known records until the early 20th century.

Asian Agri-History journal has a broadbased outlook. It will include the history or historical aspects of the following subjects:

• Agricultural economics and sociology

• Agricultural education

• Agricultural implements, farm structures, and farm machinery

• Agricultural products and uses

• Agro-astronomy and farmers’ knowledge

• Agroclimatology

• Agroforestry

• Agrogeography

• Animal husbandry: livestock, poultry, apiculture, sericulture, fisheries, and aquaculture

• Crop diversity and cropping systems

• Farm management and farming systems

• Horticulture and plantation crops and orchard management

• Origin and spread of crops and other useful plants

• Plant protection

• Postharvest management of produce

• Seed quality and storage

• Soil health and fertility

• Sustainable agriculture practices, including organic and conservation agriculture

• Water harvesting and irrigation

• Women in agriculture

Asian Agri-History will consider contributions based on original research, validating ancient knowledge, both full-length papers and short communications.

Asian Agri-History also includes other kinds of submissions, such as translations of old documents, mini-reviews, scholarly views, and commentaries.
