Abstract

Little information is available regarding the distribution of carotenoids in the flowers of Tecoma stans, a tropical tree belonging to the family Begoniaceac. Taha detected the presence of βcarotene and the dihydroxy xanthophyll, viz., zeaxanthin in the petals of this flower.
