Abstract

Sweet potato (Shakar - kandi) is extensively cultivated in hot climate countries like India, China, Japan, southern parts of U. S. A. and Africa for its tuberous roots. In its nutritive value, it is superior to potato with respect to soluble sugars and vitamin A.
