Abstract

The book on Human lactation - maternal and environmental factors throws light on the recent progress of research in human lactation. This review brings up two factors which are important but are usually discarded. The first factor being that babies are rarely exclusively breast-fed and the second is that there may be such a heavy exposure to infectious agents, that it can overcome the host defence of the breast fed infant also.
