Abstract

Studies showed that breastfeeding is ideal for better growth status of infants and toddlers variations in duration of lactation have been observed between countries and between studies. Causative factors for variations in duration of lactation have been many, prominent among them being occurrence of lactation amendment, socioeconomic status, health and nutritional status of the mother and others.
