Abstract

The almost fixed point property. A subset X of a metric space (M, d) has the "almost fixed point property" (abbreviated AFPP if and only if for each continuous function f of X into X and each positive number ∈, there exists a point p ∈ X for which d (p, f(p) ) is less than ∈ .
