Abstract

Silent Spring, a history making best seller book, is rightly considered as an eye opener to the endangered environment caused by injudicious use of agrochemicals. The philosophy of Rachel Carson and a lively but brief account of the bitter criticisms as well as laudatory revelations of the scientists regarding the book are depicted.
