Abstract

The 27th Himalaya-Karakoram - Tibet workshop was held in Kathmandu, Nepal during November, 28-30, 2012. The Workshop was organised jointly by Nepal Geological Society and the Department of Mines & Geology, Kathmandu, Nepal. The workshop was attended by the reporter who also presented a paper on "Electro-Chemical Technique for Base-metal exploration." The total participants were 160 scientists from 130 countries. The topics comprising of various aspects of geology concerning regions of Himalaya, Karakoram and Tibet. The selected papers covered methods of mineral, coal etc. exploration; and also problems associated with mining, exploration, rain snow-fall and earthquake, etc.
