First Automated Truck Convoy

Abstract

In Singapore container medium convoy trip on public road between the port terminals should be transported without delay. The worldwide first complete automated truck convoy movement management has been developed by Scania. The vehicular traffic in the city state consists of more or less one million autos. The traffic board of the city state wants that the further growth should stop. About twelve percent of the total surface of Singapore is already at present used for the transport infrastructure. Limited surfaces and increasing requirement in regard to the transport put forward the mobility in city state as also in other metropolies of the world to new challenges.
