Abstract

Snoring and obstructive sleep apnoea are under-diagnosed and yet common in the adult population. One of the treatment options include mandibular repositioning appliance which is a noninvasive procedure. The primary objective of presenting the two case reports is to highlight the therapeutic efficacy of Medical Dental Sleep Appliance (MDSA) in the management of severe obstructive sleep apnoea both objectively and subjectively. The objective assessment was made by comparing base line AHI (apnoea–hypopnoea index) and AHI with appliance in situ which showed an improvement of 99% and 55%, respectively. The secondary objective is to provide an overview of clinical and laboratory steps in the fabrication of MDSA.
