Abstract

Schwannoma of the head and neck region is relatively uncommon, histologically distinctive, benign, encapsulated peripheral tumor of Schwann cell origin. Intraosseous schwannomas are rare and represent less than 1% of all benign primary bone tumors. They pose difficulty in preoperative diagnosis but most of the cases are confirmed by histopathology and immunohistochemistry.
