Stable xylene-in-water emulsions were prepared using tetrabutyl ammonium chloride as emulgent. Tbe system was flocculated by various surface active agents possessing different length of carbon-chain. The mobility of the system has been measured using microelectrophoretic apparatus. An attempt has been made to evaluate interaction energies between the emulsion globules at various interparticle distances. The flocculation of the system has also been assessed by counting number of singlets and doublets haemocytometrically.Downloads
