Abstract

The importance of molybdenum as a micronutrient both in animal and plant nutrition has long been recognised. As an integral part of the enzyme xanthine oxidase (Xanthine: oxygen oxido reductase : EC 1.2.3.1), in animal tissues, molybdenum is involved in the catabolism of purines.
