Abstract

Child under-nutrition continues to be a significant public health problem in developing countries including India. As per NFHS 3, in India 42 per cent of children under the age of five years are underweight for their age and 48 per cent of children under the age of five years are stunted which indicates that, half of the nation's children are chronically malnourished. Moreover, 19.8 per cent children under five years in the country are wasted.
