Abstract

Useful base information about maternal and infant feeding practices is paramount to planning health service interventions designated to improve maternal and infant health. The health and survival of new born baby is dependent upon the health status of the mother and care rendered to mother during pre and post natal stages. The quality or strength of childhood foundation is primarily determined by the kind of nutrition provided to the vulnerable segments of the population like infants, children, pregnant women and nursing mothers.
