Abstract

Oilseedcakes are important source of proteins and amino acids. These cakes are of high biological value if the toxic materials such as aflatoxins, gossypol and thiocyanates have been removed. Different techniques have been employed to detoxify these cakes. The thin layer chromatography and llgand exchange chromatography are useful techniques for identification and separation of amino acids present in the protein hydrolysates.
