Abstract

Cancer is a major health problem of most countries irrespective of whether they are developed, developing or under developed. It has been estimated that there are about one and a half million cases of cancer in India alone with about half a million new cases being added on every year. Though the incidence is generally lower than the developed countries, the size of Indian population makes the actual cancer burden much more than in United States or United Kingdom.
