Generalisation of Macrobert's Results Involving Legendre Polynomials to other Orthogonal Polynomials

Abstract

The works of Scott [6] and Debnath [2] on Jacobi transforms and its use in problems on conduction of heat show the interest in orthogonal polynomials and functions ; and results obtained in this paper may be utilised in forming transforms, useful in solving problems on conduction of heat under different conditions.
