Ramification Groups of Local Fields

Abstract

Let F be a local field, that is, a field complete with respect to a discrete valuation. We assume that the residue class field of F is either finite (arithmetic case) or algebraically closed (geometric case). In both cases there is a "local class field theory" for the finite extensions K of F.
