Abstract
Ramanujan has obtained a formula for the functionΦ(2s+1,x)=Σ((x+n+1)1/2-(x+n)1/2)2s+1=Σ((x+n+1)1/2+(x+n)1/2)-(2s+1) (s=1,2,3,...).
