Abstract

Breast feeding is the sheet anchor of infant nutrition in our country. Malnutrition makes its onset during the weaning period, when the child is given insufficient breast milk and little or no adult food. Adequate information on the nutritional gaps which exist in the intake of young children is not available. How far and for how long would the breast-milk output be sufficient to meet the growth demands of the young child need to be investigated.
