Abstract
Childhood is a crucial period in terms of growth and development. Unfortunately in the developing countries, childhood is marred by malnutrition leading to high mortality and morbidity rates. According to Gopalan the high incidence of protein calorie malnutrition among weaned infants in India, cripples the growth of the nation.
