Abstract

Tribals who constitute 7.5 percent of India's population are drawing the attention of planners and administrators and are given priority in developmental measures. In Tamil Nadu the tribal population constitute 1.1 per cent of the state population Tribals are one of the most economically and socially backward groups, which is reflected in their nutritional status particularly that of children.
